Company in Bahamas commit deed fraud

Company in Bahamas commit deed fraud, but potentially someone that lives in Costilla County is the culprit.

A company reporting itself as SEABOARD FINANCIAL TRUST GROUP supposedly located in the City of Freeport, Baham, British West Indies (Bahamas) has allegedly been the source of deed fraud in Costilla County, Colorado.

"There's really two main potential reasons, it's either an active criminal group that's foreign, or a local criminal that knows the Costilla County area well and is actually a local investor attempting to steal deeds or disrupt legitimate investors.  We are currently still investigating," said a local group investigating the phenomenon.

The current scheme involves absentee land owners being victimized by false signatures and false notaries based in the Bahamas.  Deeds are being signed fraudulently.

If you know of a Bahamas group trying to sell you deeds online or property online, make sure you double check.
